B1: MW 11:00-12:30 (March 15 – April 28)

Many of our students have stated that they would like the opportunity to improve their public speaking skills beyond the presentation training they already receive in their SMG courses. We have arranged for Mr. Steven Cohen to teach SM275, a brand new, half-semester course in Public Speaking. While SM275 will not fulfill any SMG degree requirements, full-time SMG students registering for the course will be granted overload approval so that they do not incur any additional tuition by taking SM275. Think of the time spent in this course as an excellent investment in yourself and your future!
Description
This professional public speaking course is designed to help students craft and deliver speeches and presentations that leave a lasting impression. Students will explore the specific verbal and non-verbal public speaking techniques that top professional speakers use to create a strong impression, deliver powerful messages, and persuade their audiences to act. This highly interactive course provides ample opportunity for students to speak in public and improve their skills in real-time.
Instructor
Mr. Steven Cohen is a graduate of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, where he has taught since 2007. Mr. Cohen has also worked at Bank of America and as a consultant to IBM Global Business Services.
