Class Year Career Plan:
Boston University MBA Career Portfolio Program
The Career Portfolio Program (116k PDF) spans the two years you are here pursuing your MBA. Think of this program not as a course, but rather a collection of experiences that help you secure an internship and full time job in the industry you desire. These experiences are a result of a powerful collaboration between the Feld Career Center, the student clubs and the faculty. The purpose is to provide a robust array of opportunities for you so that you can gain clarity around what you’d like to pursue for your next professional chapter.
Throughout the program, you will have opportunities to network with peers, alumni and business professionals all for the benefit of helping you in your career development and search. The program includes career management classes (Career Toolkit), self assessment tools (Career Leader) through Career Toolkit and your OB class, exposure to employers through club events and career center sponsored sessions as well as portfolio specific meetings.
Outlined below is the framework that is made available to each of you. There are only two requirements of this program, which you will hear more about later from the Graduate Programs Office, but a myriad of opportunities for involvement at your disposal to help you be successful. It is up to you to take full advantage of these opportunities. Those students who carved out time to participate in these activities secured internships earlier and landed jobs during their second year with greater ease. We encourage you to make time for all interactions with employers, clubs and networking events that the school generously provides.
The faculty director for the Career Portfolio Program (link to common elements pages) is Professor Kathy Kram. Questions regarding this program should be directed to either your GPO Advisor or to Professor Kram.
