Interviewing

Q: How do I make sure I am interviewing for a position I will be
interested in
?

A: You owe it to the recruiter, your fellow students, and yourself to apply only for those positions in which you are interested. Do your research ahead of time to determine what industries and companies fit your interests, values, and skills. Of course, you might find in the interview that a job you thought sounded perfect doesn't quite meet your expectations, but in all cases it is important to continue to interview AS IF you want the position. You never know when you may interview with that company in the future.

Congratulations! You have been selected for an interview. At this point, you have made the "first cut." The interview is your opportunity to sell yourself, not only as the ideal candidate with the best qualifications, but as the candidate who is the best fit for the position and the company. Interviewers seek candidates who can articulate their qualifications well and can fulfill the position requirements. They may ask technical questions related to your past performance and your knowledge of the position, business and/or industry.
