MiTRAC:
Your Questions Answered

Q: I want to get an MiTRAC account. What do I have to do?

A: Every SMG student is welcome to an MiTRAC account. Just stop by the FCC to establish an account.

Q: How often is MiTRAC updated?

A: MiTRAC is updated daily—take a few minutes every day to make sure you're not missing any newly posted career events or job and internship postings!

Q: What is the difference between MiTRAC and campus recruiting?

A: MiTRAC is a web-based database that allows students to access information about recruiting and calendar activities. All SMG students have access to these resources. Campus recruiting is a program managed by the Feld Career Center. The recruiting team works with companies to establish relationships and bring recruiters on campus. Students post their resumés to specific job listings (campus recruiting).

Q: I want to apply for an internship on MiTRAC. What are the requirements?

A: To apply for an internship on MiTRAC the only requirement is that you have your resumé approved by an FCC counselor. However, to apply for a full-time position on MiTRAC you must have your resumé approved and have completed or be taking SM411 or ES704.

Q: Does the Feld Career Center require a particular GPA to participate in campus recruiting?

A: Less than 10% of jobs posted on MiTRAC screen out applicants based on GPA. GPA requirements, if any, are determined by individual employers.

Q: If I got an MiTRAC password last year, is it still valid?

A: Yes. If you've forgotten your password, contact the Feld Career Center at 617-353-2834 or careers@bu.edu or simply stop in to retrieve the information.

Q: How is MiTRAC different from and more targeted than monster.com?

A: MiTRAC is not the same as monster.com; the Feld Career Center has working relationships with many companies. Companies posting on MiTRAC have decided specifically to target BU students and alumni—whether they come to campus or not.
