MiTRAC:
MiTRAC Reference Guide

  1. What is MiTRAC?

MiTRAC is a web-based database, updated daily for students, alumni, and employers by the Feld Career Center (FCC). This site contains valuable career-related information. Students use it to submit resumés and cover letters, as well as to sign up for all FCC events and interview schedules. Employers post job opportunities and their company profiles. The FCC maintains a calendar of career-related events including resumé deadlines, information sessions, Lunch & Learns, and interview schedules. You can also access career search databases such as the Vault online career library.
  2. MiTRAC Web Site: mitrac.bu.edu

All SMG students are eligible to access MiTRAC. You can obtain a username and password by stopping by the FCC front desk or calling 617.353.2834.

    Complete Your Student Profile:

Upon initial login to MiTRAC, you are prompted to complete your Student Profile. The Student Profile contains personal and academic information used by the Career Center in the recruitment process. Before using MiTRAC, you must complete all categories in your Student Profile. Review your profile from time to time to make sure it is accurate.

    To Edit Student Profile:

    • Click Profile on the main navigation bar to display the Student Profile page. The Student Profile is divided into Personal Information, Academic Information, Privacy, Change password, and Activity Summary.
    • The information shows up in editable fields.
    • Click Save and Continue in the respective edit page when you are finished editing each section. Your Student Profile automatically updates to reflect the changes you have made.
    • NOTE:
      • When choosing academic concentration: SMG = Undergraduate Students; GSM = Graduate Students
      • When listing GPA in Student Profile or on resumé, list cumulative GPA
      • The information you provide in your profile (Cumulative GPA, citizenship status, etc.) must be current and accurate to the best of your knowledge.
  5. Uploading Resumés and Cover Letters

Once your resumé is approved, you are eligible to upload your resumé and tailored cover letters to your MiTRAC account. Basically, you are selecting your electronic resumé and "saving" it onto MiTRAC. When your document is uploaded, MiTRAC a utomatically converts it into a .pdf file for online display. (Note: Any changes that you make later to your resumé must be made first in a Word document, then re-uploaded to MiTRAC. You cannot edit your resumé via MiTRAC.)
