At the Feld Career Center (FCC), not only do we have a large volume of high quality companies that seek out our graduates, but we also provide a career strategies course, valuable career counseling, and an array of networking events. We believe it's never too soon to start thinking about your next step. We help you become self-aware and market-ready through:

SM411: Charting Your Career Path

At the School of Management, we recognize the importance of being well prepared for your internship or job search; that's why all students entering the School of Management are required to complete SM411 in their sophomore year. The course, taught by FCC counselors, will equip you with the necessary tools to ensure you are ready for the job search.

Individual Career Counseling

Focused, one-on-one attention, including:
Undergraduate Help

Career Exploration and Job Search Strategy: Meet with a counselor to discuss your interests, skills, and preferences, and how to turn these ideas into a career path.

Resumé and cover letter critiques: To ensure your personal marketing materials accurately and confidently reflect your skills and experiences.

Interview training: To test your market-readiness, identify new and improve current strategies, and gain confidence through mock interviews.

Career reference media: Access to print and online resources on various career topics, industries, career fields, and organizations. Other useful resources include:
  • Walk-in Counseling Hours: Drop by the FCC during the hours below to speak with a counselor for quick career guidance. Appointments are no longer than 10 minutes.
    • Tuesdays: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Wednesdays: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
    • Fridays: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Senior Only Walk-in Counseling Hours: The FCC will hold senior-specific counseling hours on select dates during the fall and spring semesters to support your job search. Please check the FCC newsletter or stop by the Center for specific details.
  • How Freshman Can Get Involved: Freshman can come to walk-in counseling hours, learn from FCC counselors in SM121 regarding informational interviewing, attend TGI-FCC events held throughout the semester in the undergraduate lounge, and stop by the FCC to take advantage of our helpful career-related handouts.

MiTRAC (mitrac.bu.edu): A web-based database, powered by Symplicity, updated daily for students, alumni, and employers by the Feld Career Center. The site contains valuable career-related information. Students use it to submit resumés and cover letters, as well as to sign up for all career events and interview schedules. Employers post job opportunities and their company profiles. The Career Center maintains a calendar of career-related events including resumé deadlines, information sessions, Lunch and Learns, and interview schedules.

Career Advisory Network: Current student access to career advice from alumni and working professionals. To gain access, click in the "Work" area of Student Link. Find and click the link to the Career Advisory Network. To log in, students should enter their BU e-mail address as their login name and Kerberos password

Alumni Link: Real-world perspectives and one-on-one support from alumni members of our Alumni Connections program.

Career Fairs

Each year, the Feld Career Center sponsors internship and job fairs in the fall and spring. Top companies attend both events to recruit students for internships, summer jobs, and full-time positions.
