Questions and Answers

Q: "I am an MBA student who is interested in switching careers. My background is in engineering and I think I want to pursue product marketing. Can the career center help me get a job in a new field?"

A: The majority of students that decide to enter our MBA program are, in fact, career switchers. While most employers are looking for relevant work experience, many will appreciate your transferable skills. We can help you develop a customized career development plan that will keep you on track for employment after graduation. If you have not already done so, call the FCC (617-353-2834) and make an appointment with a career counselor. You will want to start Networking early and do as many Informational Interviews as possible so that you can land an internship in the new field and gain valuable relevant experience. Also, take advantage of the Career Portfolio Program networking events to expand your industry contacts.
